Most all of the goods sold in central Tibet are trucked in on this road. The truck traffic would keep the roads clear of snow. Amdo, Tibet.

The Chinese truck drivers would always warn us about the Tibetan wolves that roamed this desolate frozen land. The Chinese were very fearful of the wovles but the Tibetans did not think they were a problem for humans. Amdo, Tibet.

Weather on the Tibetan plateau changes by the minute. This would mean that we would often be treated to wonderful displays of rainbows. When we finally reached Lhasa, there was a rainbow over the Potala Palace. North Central Tibet.
